Class sizes are a maximum of 6 dogs per class.
Classes are designed to be fun and rewarding for both dog and handler, but in the interest of safety, responsibility, and welfare it is important that the following terms and conditions are noted.
• (We are happy for the whole family to be involved with training at classes as we believe that it is important for everyone to remain consistent with the dog’s training. However, only one handler at a time will work with the dog at the time of practising behaviours. Children must remain under strict parental control and remain seated unless asked to participate.) Because of Covid-19 , we wish to minimise the number of people in the hall at any one time.
• Harsh handling is not permitted, and we will ask a handler to leave if we feel that they are treating the dogs harshly or being disrespectful to other members of the group.
• We expect all dogs to wear a normal flat collar/harness and lead. Head collars, choke chains, check chains, extending leads, prong collars, anti-bark collars, punitive methods and manhandling are not allowed.
• We are not able to accept dogs that bark excessively, or dogs that display aggressive tendencies, in a training class environment. Excessive barking is not fair to other class members and the barking dog will not be receptive to instruction. If your dog does bark excessively in our classes, we will have to request that they be removed.
• Dogs are to be kept on a lead in and around our training venues unless specifically requested by the instructor. All dogs must be kept under control and on a lead.
• Although we want your dogs to have fun, the training session will not allow for play between dogs during the class. Dogs react differently to each other, and we will teach you how to raise a polite and respectful dog that greets nicely.
• The owner must disclose any behavioural problems of a reactive nature, towards human or dog, before attending any training class. A discussion and potentially a visit may have to take place in order to assess whether or not a training class will be right for that individual dog.
• We do have the right to ask at any time for a dog to leave the class if the safety of the other owners and dogs are in conflict. However please don't let reactive issues affect you training your dog. We well will help any owner to the best of our ability.
• Please be aware that your dog cannot attend training until a week after any neutering or spaying procedure. We would also ask that you do not attend with your dog if she is in season.
Payment terms
• We expect payment in full, prior to the first class of the course. A deposit is taken for classes and places cannot be guaranteed until that deposit is received.
• We regret refunds are not available, apart from in exceptional circumstances.
• It is our discretion to terminate an owner’s place in a class if the owner does not pay.
• If you are unable to attend all classes but decide to book a place on the course, then unfortunately we cannot waiver the fees for the lessons you miss.
• In the unlikely event of the training session being cancelled by us, either a catch-up lesson will be given in return, or a full refund made.
• We do not take a deposit on the booking of a 1-2-1 and work in good faith.
• If you cancel your 121 appointment a week before the consultation is supposed to happen, you are obliged to pay a cancellation fee of £10.
• If you cancel your 121 appointment 24 hours or less before the 121 is due to take place you are obliged to pay a cancellation fee of £20
• All of your personal information will be held in the strictest confidence and will not be passed on to anyone including any third parties.
Health
• All dogs attending class should be fully vaccinated.
• Please do not bring your dog to class if he or she has been coughing, vomiting or has diarrhoea. If you are unsure whether or not to bring your dog to class or fulfil a 1-2-1, please do not hesitate to call us or speak with your veterinary surgeon.
• We will take all reasonable precautions to avoid any injuries to handlers and dogs resulting from scratches and bites. However, with the nature of handling and owning dogs there is always that element of unpredictability that everyone should be aware of.
• We do not accept responsibility for injuries received by the owner from their dog or relating to training in any public place including the owner’s premises.
